Open/Close Menu Offering the best in Strength Training and Powerlifting Equipment and facilities in a friendly, helpful environment

A couple of weeks ago, RWF Gym hosted it’s first BDFPA (British Drug Free Powerlifting Association) powerlifting meet.

We had 36 lifters travelling from as far afield as Devon and Hull, plus a great number of gym members, competing in challenging conditions – it was the hottest day of the year with temps reaching 33C at one point. Despite the heat, some excellent lifting was on display. You can see the results spreadsheet here: RWF BDFPA Results June17

We had the incredible Nottingham Doughnut Company providing sustenance, as well as a bake-off from our gym members meaning an endless supply of cake and shortbread! Ice pops and free bottled water kept everyone as cool as could be, and we’d bought in a load of extra fans to try and help.

Our next BDFPA comp is on the 11th November, and is already selling out fast. Entry forms for that can be found under the “Events” tab on this website, or on the BDFPA website.

We invested in competition standard equipment for these competitions, and for general use of our members.

So, competing at RWF you’ll have access to nearly 1000kg of calibrated, competition weights.

You’ll compete on a full Eleiko set, and Elieko bar.

You’ll get to warm up on Rogue Ohio bars using calibrated Rogue plates – so no more warming up on bent bars and bumper plates, then getting a shock on the platform.

We also have two comp-spec racks, so you can warm up on the exact rack you’ll be competing in. We have 4 deadlift platforms.

All of these things make a huge difference on the day; you’ve trained hard to compete, so we do our best to not let you down when it matters.

To train at RWF, get in touch. We’re nearly at full capacity, so please get involved soon before we have to move to a one in/one out membership policy!

Thanks to everyone that competed – you made it a cracking day, and an event that we are massively proud of!
